M R V C   HELICOPTER  USB   CONTROLS
A
S USED BY PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTORS, THE R.A.F. AND POLICE HELICOPTER SUPPORT TRAINING SCHOOLS WITHIN THE UK

In the MRVC system, the "T" frame cross bar sits behind the front legs of any four legged chair. This stops the frame moving away from the user and allows the pedals to operate in the correct way, as they do in a real helicopter. The pedal module slides along and locks to any position on the frame to fit the leg length of the user.
This configuration is unique to the MRVC system and puts the controls way ahead of the games type add-on's that usually feel nothing like real aircraft pedals.

The USB Long shaft Joystick / Cycliclong shaft stick

The long shaft is the most advanced example of a PC simulator control cyclic available anywhere. The conversion of the latest Saitek EVO is not just a stick with an extended shaft to make it look more like the ones found in a typical helicopter,It is able to reproduce the type of finger tip control you would encounter when flying a real helicopter. This is possible due to it's adjustable transitional hub, and the ability to turn off it's spring centering, The cyclic stick, is a totally new integrated mechanism which extends the stick’s original mechanical performance far beyond that of ordinary tabletop joysticks. The converted EVO still has a full compliment of programmable buttons and switches. All of these features remain functional within the long shaft conversion.

If you just extend the length of a standard short joystick without some sort of transitional joint to give the correct mechanical ratio. you just end up with a stick that has to move a much greater distance in any direction in order to get a response. ( the exact opposite of what you need to control your helicopter sim). The  long shaft conversion achieves fine control by translating small hand movements of the stick into higher ratio inputs by direct mechanical conversion. On the long shaft, we have made this facility adjustable. This combined with the user option to switch off the self-centering springs, will give you the ultimate helicopter cyclic control. (Switch the centering spring back on, set the stick to standard and it’s ready to fly conventional fixed wing sims.)

     Collective lever

The collective lever is the final part of the helicopter configuration and is a full size dedicated control that is just like the one you will find in the cockpit of any helicopter. It has a fully adjustable hydraulic damper and feels and responds just like the real thing.

The collective lever fits to the pedal frame cross bar in seconds and plugs directly into the base of the base of the longshaft stick.

This is our OPTIONAL basic type one twist throttle that will go work with any flight sim software that supports a throttle assignment. It is built to a very high quality, and is complete with it's pre calibrated USB control box ready to go.

The unit is primarily designed to fit our collective levers, but if you have already constructed your own collective lever you can add this throttle providing you have a 1" OR 25MM steel tube handle to slide it over.

We can advise you on how to do this.

Both throttles displayed are designed to work with the new

Real Start software from

www.dodosim.com

and can be supplied as a retro fit

to any of our collective levers

THROTTLE CONTROL INFORMATION

A twist grip throttle is available as an optional extra to all our helicopter units. To make use oft his extra facility requires that the software being used, actually incorporates twist throttle function,

Learning to control a modern simulated turbine helicopter, such as the Bell 206 Jet Ranger as found in most flight sims, requires little or no use of the throttle, If you just want to learn to hover and do some basic maneuvers.  So authentic turbine control at this level is not given much priority as an included function in most popular helicopter flight simulation software.

However if you want to get really serous about helicopter flying, then you will have to learn all of the most important aspects of turbine engine control. To do this you will need one of our throttles together with the advanced, and specialised add-on dodosim software that incorporates extremly accurate flight dynamics and the correct start  up and shut down procedures.

This is the ultimate example of a fully functional reproduction Jet Ranger collective head unit with all the turbine controls operational and in the correct positions

With this collective lever you can follow the( right hand over left hand) start-up and shut down procedure as required in the real aircraft

This control is available to order  with all functions pre calibrated and ready to plug into your USB port and assign to the DoDosim software or any other sim software that is able to properly allocate and assign the correct control  functions directly to this level of hardware.
